A good day for our local trainers!

Our local, on-site trainers Mark Blackie and Jim Pender both notched up wins at our Interislander Summer Festival on January 2nd!

For Mark Blackie, Le Castile was an all the way winner, taking out the New World Summer Cup Open Handicap over 1400 meters. With Mathew Cameron on board the 4YO grey mare led from start to finish to notch up her 4th win from 9 starts. Next target for Le Castile is the Group 2 Westbury Classic, worth $100,000 on Anniversary Weekend Saturday at Ellerslie.

Jim Pender and Trudy Thornton combined to give Nasha Riva a close win in the Rob Pinny Realty 1400 Maiden. It was just the 2nd start for the 3YO old filly after a third placing in her first race over 1200m.
