Racing Tauranga is proud to announce it has been named NZTR Provincial Club of the Year 2024 and the prestigious Overall NZTR Club of the Year 2024 at the New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) Industry Development Conference.
These accolades recognise outstanding performance across five key categories: Financial, Racing, Marketing, Governance, and Innovation. The awards highlight the vital role Clubs play in driving excellence, sustainability, and innovation across the thoroughbred racing industry.
The assessment period covered the 2024 calendar year—from 1 January to 31 December—during which Racing Tauranga successfully delivered 12 race meetings and 2 trial days, including additional dates added to support the wider industry.
Louise Dean, General Manager of Racing Tauranga, says the award reflects the collective dedication and hard work of the club’s tight-knit team and supporters.
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive both awards. It’s a real credit to our small but committed team, and to the many people who support us. I especially want to thank our Sponsorship & Events Manager Andrew Love for his huge efforts engaging the community and building strong partnerships, and our Track Manager Craig Settle, who’s gone above and beyond preparing the track—particularly with the extra meetings and trials added throughout the year,” said Louise.
“We’re also incredibly grateful to our sponsors, members, and wider community—your ongoing support is a huge part of what makes Racing Tauranga so special.”
With a strong focus on innovation, community engagement, and track excellence, Racing Tauranga impressed across all five judging categories, each weighted equally.
This recognition reflects Racing Tauranga’s ongoing dedication to supporting and strengthening New Zealand racing, both on the track and within the wider community.
