PUNTER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Contestant Names
Contestant names must be disclosed to Racing Tauranga, although a pseudonym (nom de plume) may be used for publicity purposes. The username of the TAB account must also be provided.
2. TAB Online Account Requirement
All players must have a TAB online account to enter the competition. No manual entries will be accepted.
3. Entry Fee and Betting Fund
The Entry Fee is $30 per person (maximum of two people per entry).
4. Number of Entries
Only one team entry is permitted per TAB account.
5. Age Limit
All contestants must be 18 years or older.
6. Competition Start Time
The competition opens at 11.00am on Saturday 21 June 2025.

8. Progress Board
A leaderboard showing the top four balances will be updated regularly in the lounge. When asked, all contestants must provide the competition organisers with an accurate balance. Any contestant who, in the opinion of the organisers, deliberately holds back their balance in an attempt to lessen their position on the leaderboard will be disqualified.
9. Winner Determination
The winner shall be the contestant with the highest balance at 5.00pm. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be drawn by lot under the supervision of the Racecourse Inspector or Stipendiary Steward.
10. Result Confirmation
Before any prizes are awarded, all teams in contention agree to allow the competition organisers full access to their transaction history on their TAB account to verify that all competition rules and requirements have been met.
11. Disqualification
Any contestant who fails to comply with these rules may be disqualified. Holding back winning dividends to misrepresent standings on the leaderboard may also result in disqualification.
12. Postponement/Cancellation
If the race meeting is postponed or cancelled before the competition, Racing Tauranga reserves the right to move the competition to an alternative race meeting(s). If the meeting is abandoned during the race day, the competition will continue, as betting can be placed on any thoroughbred race that day in New Zealand or Australia.
13. Clarification of Rules
Any additional competition rules or clarifications will be made available before the competition starts on Saturday 21 June 2025.
14. Prizegiving and Lounge Opening Hours
Prizegiving will take place at 5.15pm. The Tokyo Lounge and bar will remain open until 5.30pm, allowing contestants to continue betting on Australian racing.
